How Much Does Google Workspace with Gemini Cost in Australia?

These are the figures on Google's Australian business page as at 25 October 2026. All prices are AUD per user per month.

Google labels the annual option as saving 16% with a one-year commitment and says all plans are billed monthly. Confirm the applicable price, commitment and GST treatment at checkout.

What Do You Get with Gemini in Google Workspace?

As at 25 October 2026, Starter covers Gmail assistance and chatting with Gemini. Standard is the first business tier with Gemini across Docs, Sheets, Slides, Meet, Drive and Chat, according to Google's feature comparison.

That broader access includes finding and summarising files in Drive and taking meeting notes in Meet. Check the feature you need against your edition before upgrading. Google's Australian AI page also warns that some access may be promotional.

You do not need to buy the former Gemini add-on. Google says AI features now depend on your Workspace edition and the old add-ons are no longer available for purchase.

What Can Gemini in Gmail and Workspace Studio Do for Enquiries and Follow-Up?

Gemini in Gmail can summarise long threads, identify action items, draft replies, find details and propose meeting times. For an owner reading a long quote enquiry, that's a useful starting point: pull out the request, then prepare a reply for checking.

But a draft still needs judgement. Google warns that Gemini may suggest 'inaccurate or inappropriate information' and should not be relied on as 'medical, legal, financial or other professional advice'. I'd check names, scope, dates and any promise before sending.

Workspace Studio adds flows and agents, and Google says it is generally available with all Business and Enterprise Workspace plans as at 25 October 2026. Published examples include labelling priority emails, saving attachments to Drive and recording them in Sheets.

So the distinction is useful: Gmail assistance helps the person handling the message; Studio can run a defined sequence. Neither establishes that your job system or CRM has a usable connection.

Is Gemini Free for Business, and What Happens to Personal-Account Data?

The personal Gemini app has a free A$0-per-month option as at 25 October 2026. That does not give a personal account the same protections as a qualifying Workspace account.

Google lists Business Starter, Standard and Plus among editions where Gemini is a core service. Under those business-account protections, content is not human reviewed or used for generative AI training outside the domain without permission. Accounts without qualifying protection may have chats reviewed and used to improve Google's products.

Is Gemini's Daily Brief Available to Australian Businesses?

No, as at 25 October 2026. Google's daily brief requirements restrict the gradual rollout to eligible adults in the US using personal accounts, in English. Work accounts are excluded.

A Studio daily unread-email summary is an available alternative to investigate. It is a separate flow, with its own inputs and rules.

When Is Gemini Enough, and When Do You Need Automation Built?

I'd start with included Gemini features when the job is reading, finding or drafting and someone already owns the next action. Built automation becomes worth considering when an enquiry needs client history, an assigned follow-up, an approval and a recorded outcome.

1. Choose one enquiry type and identify the trigger.
2. List the information needed to prepare a useful reply.
3. Check connections to the systems holding that information.
4. Decide who approves sensitive output and handles exceptions.
5. Record the outcome so follow-up has a clear owner.
